The increasing population and demand of the two programs in the University opened the idea of creating of a new College for greater efficiency and effectiveness in instruction, research, extension, and production. In order to further strengthen and make relevant the offering of these two programs, the UNP Board of Regents signed Resolution No. 20, s. 2014 on February 21, 2014, creating the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management. This resolution was confirmed by the Board through its Resolution No. 39-C, s. 2014 on May 9, 2014 which also approved the opening of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management to formally operate on June 9, 2014. The then Bachelor of Science in Tourism is now the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management while the Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Administration is changed to Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. Dr. Marilen P. Pablico, a DBA graduate of UNP, was designated as the first Officer-In-Charge of the newly established College of Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2014.

Enrolment in the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management is now on its third year. The two programs offers internship abroad, in the country, and within the locality which will fully expose students to professional hospitality and tourism management training that will ultimately prepare them for careers in hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, airlines, and food and beverage establishments and other related jobs in the hospitality industry.

The College has also established linkages with national and international organizations and institutions like HR International which caters the students to take their Work and Travel Program in the United States of America and St. Andrews Educational Services for Thailand. Other linkages includes Astoria Hotel Properties (Manila, Bohol, Boracay, Palawan), Crown Regency Hotel (Boracay), Hotel Luna, National University, Far Eastern University, and Lyceum of the Philippines University, Manila.

On quality assurance, both the BSHM and BSTM programs have been reaccredited for Level III, Phase I Status by the Accrediting Agency for Chartered Universities and Colleges (AACCUP).

Along leadership development, the students have organized themselves into the Society of Hospitality and Tourism Students (SHATS) as the Mandated Organization of the College. Further, there are also accredited organizations such as the Hospitality Management Students' Organization (HMSO) for BSHM students and the Tourism Students' Organization for BSTM students.
